My name is Dr. Awilda Lugo Mendez DNP, APRN. I am the medical director for Renewed Health and Wellness LLC.
I received my Doctorate Degree in Nursing Practice with a specialty in Family Medicine from Quinnipiac University in 2016, my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Connecticut in 2012 and my Bachelors of Science in Cell Molecular and Physiological Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Central Connecticut State university in 2004. I have also received significant training in Aesthetic medicine for the past three years.
I have managed patient care in different settings, including Primary Care (Private Practice and Community Health Centers), Skilled Nursing Facilities/Short-Term Rehabilitation Centers for long-term care and for patients who have had recent surgery, or major illnesses and just need short-term care. I currently manage patient care in outpatient behavioral health. Finally, I have worked Part-Time in Aesthetic medicine for the past three years.
I love being a nurse practitioner and have always practiced with compassion, cultural competence and the highest quality of care. My practice has always been patient centered and have collaborated with families to address their needs. My goal is to continue with the same principles with Renewed Health and Wellness and serve the Prospect community with the highest quality of care.
